Student supplies: none

Format: class video discussion where you share slides (e.g., Google Meet)

Activity description:

  • Explain to students that you will be giving hints (e.g., Food Origin Study Print, Canada’s Food Guide Study Print, how it is eaten) about one of the Food Picture Cards in front of them. The goal is for students to guess which food you are describing with as few clues as possible.

  • The first student to correctly guess the Food Picture Card being described will become the leader who chooses another food to describe to the class.

  • If students need assistance thinking of clues, prompt them to think of colour, shape, how they like to eat that food, the Food Origin Study Print or Canada’s Food Guide Study Print it matches, etc.

Wrap up:

Ask students:

  • Were any foods challenging to figure out?

  • Were there any foods you couldn’t guess?

  • Were there any foods that were easy to guess?
